Work on the comic is stopped for now. I want to finish those toy cars first. So contest deadline will most probably be missed, but the comic will be finished!
The cars are almost done. Painting, weathering and decals have been applied. Small work on the interior, sealing the whole bunch and they're ready to put back together again. Pics soon.

My wife re-installed my PC (I have a legal XP now) and we got a new router, so we've spend quite some time behind the screen doing mindless cleanups and installs.
She's next getting W7, fingers crossed.
Blogger stopped supporting FTP stuff, so I want to switch to Wordpress. No idea when it will happen.

Ow, I'm going to a gym twice a week. Life is getting more crazy every minute...

Comics! Arris wrote a 2 page script for me and together we're taking a shot at a comic contest. Main character is done, page layout is ready and I'm ready to go! I really want to do this again after... 10 years? And yes, I like Tezuka and Ashley Wood.

And then there are these 4 Willys Coupe's being customised for a Hot Wheels meeting.
Yes, I've turned into a 30something that relives his childhood with other 30somethings by getting together and buying way to expensive toy cars.

On a finer note: in 1 second I screwed up a custom I've been working on for three years. Gave it a nice coat of clear paint, moved the box and the figure tipped over into the dust and got covered in it. So great....

I finally finished a drawing for Qreativ Studio. It took way to long, but I'm happy with the result. It did show me that I shouldn't do any freelance work, there is just no time at the moment.

There's an interview with me in Compress magazine. Read it here.
I did some work on the Trapir (project is entering it's 3th year of lazyness) and I'm drawing a '69 Dodge Charger for someone. It's fun to do something you are quite certain of you can do but never did. Needless to say, I'm happy with the results so far.
I should be working on 2 papertoys for an upcoming book but I can't seem to push myself. Of course the deadline is approaching fast.
And there are some Hot Wheels I'm customzing, a Halloween Buzz Lightyear and other projects. Sigh...

2009 marks the 5th birthday of the Brickboy paper toy, one of the very first platform paper toys online.
The other platform paper toy was T-Boy by Shin Tanaka and in 2006 he created this Brickboy version. For various reasons it was never released, until now...

This release is the 30th design, but also the LAST Brickboy design that will be published. After this one, no new designs will be released by me. Actually the whole Brickboy project will be closed.
On January 1st 2010 ALL Brickboy designs will be taken OFFLINE and will not be offered again by me.

"I haven't worked on Brickboy for a long time and don't feel any urge to do it. I have been making loads of other toys (like the Thought Processor with Phoneticontrol) and have plans for many more. I feel I need to close this chapter for good and move on. I would like to give my thanks to each and everyone who has contributed designs and supported me all these years."

There is also some good news, the Brickboy template, which was only available on request, will be RELEASED on www.nicepapertoys.com. It will be freely available for non commercial use.

So, go ahead, download all the designs while you can and have as much fun with the template as I had.

...but I sure as hell don't. This is what I have been paid to draw:

For the last 4 weeks illustration work has been 60% of my time. Some of it you will see, some won't. Drawing directly with a Wacom in Illustrator can be hard, but I'm learning every day. All I can say that I'm having a good time and I like the results.
Now let's finish the last bits for the Urban Paper show.

Just finished a first draft for a logo for a friend, there's a baby Qee turning into Captain America, painted wooden train tracks for Luuk and I finally started on a paper toy for the upcoming Heavy Hitterz show in Maryland, USA. In between I customise a USB tank, have idea's for a Paper Totem, need to build the second Bootpeg and organise the Urban Paper show slated for August.

I believe my wife and son are still happy with me... better check now.

With death knocking on Brickboys door it's time for some fun. 10 of these 'Death by Powerpoint' miniBricks will be available for €2,00 at my presentation this Wednesday. They're printed on 160 grams paper with an layer of metallic varnish that make it look like a disco inferno. Yes, it doesn't show on the image...
Also 5 blankBricks are available.
What's not sold will be in the shop on Thursday.
